If you are going to be driving in Rexburg during the winter months, there are a few things you should know. Typically, the streets with the higher speed limits also have the most traffic. You can use the map above to find alternate driving routes to your destination that will have less traffic by sticking to the streets marked in dark blue (20-25 mph). However, if it has recently snowed, or the weather conditions are icy, the city’s snow plows usually clear and salt the higher traffic streets first. This leaves you with 2 main options when driving in hazardous conditions: You can either drive on the streets that are plowed and salted but have more traffic (green, orange, and red streets), or you can drive on the less crowded streets, but risk traveling through deeper snow and ice (dark blue streets).
